Dr. Jorge Alvarez is a Coordinator at the Riverside County Office School of Education's Center for Teacher Innovation. He has experience as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, school administrator, and as an administrative credential program mentor. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Social Science from California State University San Bernardino, a Master's degree in Teaching from Azusa Pacific University and a Master's in Educational Leadership, Technology and Learning also from Azusa Pacific. Dr. Alvarez earned his doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from San Diego State University. In addition, he holds a teaching credential with a bilingual authorization, a "Leading Edge" Online and Blended Learning Teacher Certification, and is a graduate of The National Center on Education and the Economy's NISL Executive Program. In 2017, Dr. Alvarez was selected as 1 of 33 TED Ed Innovative Educators from around the world and two years later he was selected as 1 of 12 educators from around the country to become part of the 2019 Bezos Scholars.
