Michelle Root is a seasoned educator with all 19 years of her experience being in Hayward Unified School District. Michelle has been an elementary school teacher, instructional coach, elementary assistant principal, and currently an Administrator on Special Assignment for Professional Development. She has been instrumental in systematizing professional learning in Hayward Unified while listening to the needs of the teachers and holding a data driven and equity focused lens.
Michelle is passionate about supporting teachers, developing structures and systems that positively impact classroom instruction, and thinking of innovative ways to make professional learning more accessible, meaningful, and enjoyable to all staff in her district.
She believes in the power of education to transform lives and is dedicated to fostering safe and brave spaces for educators to refine their craft in order to empower students to reach their full potential.
