About me
Regina Flores-Dunda is a dedicated educator with over two decades of experience and a strong commitment to promoting educational equity and college and career readiness. Beginning her journey in 1997 as the first Latina/Native American to represent Colorado at the Miss America pageant, Regina used her platform to advocate for the importance of education and college opportunities for underserved youth. Throughout her career, Regina has held various roles including teacher, business owner, education consultant, and professional development coordinator. She has also served as an early college instructional coach for Denver’s six state-designated early college high schools. Alongside Dr. Edward Fergus, author of "Solving Disproportionality and Achieving Equity”, Regina co-led a pilot program for Denver Public Schools focused on closing the opportunity gap and developing equity audit tools for school leaders. Currently, Regina serves as an Assistant Principal at Diamond Ranch High School in Pomona, CA, where she continues to work towards reimagining the high school experience and closing the opportunity gap for all students.
